Samurai 7, Teeth 8

Uncle Dave and Aunt Leah brought Sebastian this great shirt from their trip to Japan

The back of the shirt says:

"A samurai never goes back on his word. People on the same side should help each other out. One must put on a brave display even under the most trying circumstances."

In other news, Sebastian has gone through a teething spurt.  He's gotten 6 teeth in the past 2.5 weeks, for a grand total of 8 teeth.  You can see some of the new teeth in these photos.

Great Day

We spent lots of time outside this afternoon enjoying the fantastic weather. Earlier in the day, we celebrated Nana Sheila's birthday with Indian food and cake. Sebastian mostly stuck to his lunch of chicken and squash (local and seasonal...the kid eats well), but he also tried some dal and saag paneer.

Reading with Nana Sheila

Nana Sheila has helped out this week on the days Sebastian is not at daycare. I can hear him telling her lots of things (which mostly sound like baababa), and they both seem to enjoy reading books.

9 months, 1 day

(Say "Aaaaaah.")

Sebastian had his 9 month check up today. He wasn't thrilled by the flu vaccine or anemia/lead test, but he did just fine.

His latest stats are:

Head circumfrence: 46.5 cm
Height: 30 in (76.2 cm)
Weight: 24.4 lbs (11.1 kilos)

He continues to be bigger than 95% of kids his age. I went to a class this week (infant sign!) where I sat next to moms with boys the same age. Sebastian looked SO much bigger.

US children's clothing sizes are pretty much useless for us, as they give an age (not height/ weight). He is wearing something labeled 18-24 months today.

Thanks Aunt Kate!

Sebastian is lucky enough to have two Aunt Kates who have given him knitted gifts. Today's cool weather called for a sweater, so A chose US Aunt Kate's colorful cardigan. Sebastian rocks the look!
