From what I've read, babies generally double their birth weight at 5 to 6 months.
Sebastian is now 11 weeks old. At birth, he weighed 8lbs 5oz (133 oz/ 3.77 kilo). At the doctors this week, he weighed 13lbs 13oz (221 oz/ 6.27 kilo). This is a delta of 66%!
I find this kind of amusing for a few reasons because for the first few weeks, our pediatrician was concerned he wasn't gaining weight quickly enough. So most of this gain has actually happened in the last 8 weeks!
His length and weight are still proportional. He has gotten a LOT longer too. Most of his clothing is labeled 6+ months.
At this rate, I think he'll double his birth weight around 4 months. When will it slow down?
